 Hi Mark,

 I think it may be the version of HDF4 (4.2.4) - intel Mac was not
 supported at some point in the past, but it seems to work for me with
 4.2.6 Can you please check again using 4.2.6? I've put the source for all
 nexus third party libraries and some quick build scripts at
 http://wiki.nexusformat.org/Building_Third_Party_Libraries
