This is the conclusion of the solution to record multiple detector modules as initiated by DECTRIS. For more background see the mailing list archive http://lists.nexusformat.org/pipermail/nexus/2012/thread.html and the Wiki:
http://wiki.nexusformat.org/Main_Page/NXdetector_2012_10

After the recent discussions we now come to a binding vote on whether we want to introduce NXdetector_module. In the last non-binding vote we basically ruled out the two other new options ("Use NXgeometry" and "NXdetector_element"). The existing "General Case" (recording every pixel location) and "SNS Usage" (splitting modules into separate detectors) remain possible. But NXdetector_module arguably fulfils a different use case.

The vote will close in two weeks on Wednesday, 5th December 2012 at noon GMT.

I support the introduction of NXdetector_element as explained in http://wiki.nexusformat.org/Main_Page/NXdetector_2012_10 under the heading "Tobias Suggestion".
