[Nexus] NXgetinfo for NX_CHAR datasets

Hi all,

when i create a dataset of type NX_CHAR using NXmakedata 
a following call to NXgetinfo obviously doesn't return the proper dimensions.
instead, it always delivers the size of the current data type in any dimension 
array element.

It works fine for any other data type however.
What is the purpose of this behaviour and how can the actual dimensions for 
NX_CHAR datasets be retrieved ???
