Dear All,

I have a Beamline which wants to include a scaling factor for their detector to correct it to absolute intensities, based on a calibration.

In NXdata there is a scaling_factor which is good, and what we are currently using, but I can’t find anywhere appropriate to put this calibrated scale value for the intensity in NXdetector which should also contain the information.

There is a countrate_correction__applied Boolean value, but that’s for hardware corrections only, with flatfield_applied, angular_calibration_applied and pixel_mask_applied there are also flatfield, angular_calibration and pixel_mask datasets which contains the correction values to apply if they are not applied in the electronics.

Should there be a countrate_correction NXfloat value, or am I missing something else which does the same job?

We booked that under a different name: it is the efficiency NXdata group in NXdetector. What we have there covers the complicated neutron case: detector efficiency is different
per pixel and dependent on wavelength. Which matters if you correct TOF detectors.

Does that help you?

   Regards,

              Mark K.

Thanks for your help

Mark
