[Nexus] Names of linked items

Hi everyone,
This is a question for the NeXus old-timers (Mark?). I received a request for NeXpy to allow links to have different names to their parent objects. I had assumed that the standard required that the linked parents and children have the same name, and all the examples in the documentation do, but there doesn’t seem to be a declared rule about it.

There is no problem implementing different names in NeXpy, which only writes HDF5 files, but my recollection was that HDF4 links had to have the same name because of the way objects were attached to Vgroups. Am I wrong about that? If I’m not wrong, does napi5.c care if the names are different?

Thanks,
Ray
