 Require tools to combine 1d and 2d data (sqw or dnd type), e.g. two 1d
 cuts from equivalent positions combined to improve statistics. In many
 cases this will be equivalent to symmetrising data. Symmetrising d3d and
 d4d is difficult due to the problem of overlapping voxels, but we can deal
 with d0d, d1d and d2d relatively easily. sqw is also doable if we work on
 the assumption that each dataset bin contains information from a large
 number of pixels.
