 The 3 operations we generally wish to perform are rebin, combine and
 symmetrise.

 For d1d these are straightforward, and they can also be done for d2d with
 a bit of work. For d3d and d4d it is extremely difficult, since we come
 into the problem of calculating intersecting (hyper)volumes.

 For sqw data of any dimensionality the 3 operations are straightforward.
 This is because we can use the "MSlice" approximation (all of the spectral
 weight of a pixel goes into a bin if its centre of mass is in that bin).
 We can do this by working with the detector pixel information directly,
 since the approximation that there are lots of pixels per bin is generally
 a good one.
