 Can you please tell me which version of Linux you are using and the exact
 sequence of commands you typed after unpacking the .tar.gz kit. The
 commands you mention (cd srcdir && aclocal) should not get run on a simple
 "configure and make" - they are executed when either of the files
 acinclude.m4 or configure.ac get modified. While aclocal should not hang
 as you report, i am curious to why make has decided to run aclocal at all.
 Could you please tell me the modfication times on the files
 "configure.ac", "aclocal.m4" and "acinclude.m4". Thanks.
