[NeXus-committee] NeXus base class discussions

What we're all discussing here is base classes for RAW data files. What we
do with treated data is a whole different question (and one that'll
probably cause even more consternation...)!
Thus, I'm not entirely convinced that we need worry about USERS at the
moment. The only way that they'll interact with NeXus RAW files is through
API's that some of this lists membership will write, or through programs
that we in the facilities supply.
However, speaking as a beam line scientist, and someone who is supposed to
co-write an Instrument Definition once we've reached some sort of
agreement, I do agree with Jason that I'm having trouble at times seeing
the wood for the trees in the discussions on the Swiki...
Also, having just read Ray's posting, I'm not sure we will be doing
ourselves any favours by insisting on polar and azimuthal angles. Two
theta might not be very explicit, but it is very widely used. It should be
accommodated, somehow..., for those that would rather use it.
