When talking with a colleague (Rob Dalgliesh) the question was raised of how
to describe a neutron bender. There would seem to be a few alternatives:
1. Treat a bender as a set of closely spaced guides
2. Define an NXbender class, leaving NXguide as is for guides
3. Define an NXbender class, but consider a guide as the special case of a
bender with no vanes
(1) might get cumbersome, so (2) or (3) would seem the best routes.
Another complication is ballistic guides, which have a rather awkward shape
to describe. Maybe all we need to include though is the final
direction/shape of the beam and its divergence at guide exit?
