        Update on NIAC meeting Grenoble, 1-3 Feb. 2006

As I wrote earler I would like to have numbers for the meeting
fixed by 12th December.  I summarise below the present status.  If
other sites have been successfully contacted  please let me and
members know their names.  

Andy Goetz has been contacting other synchrotron facilities, and
suggests that, early in the proceedings, a synchroton break-out
group is gently lead into the potential of NeXus.  Like myself
he wishes to use the meeting to ensure that the "Grandes Lignes"
are not obfuscated by the need to define the detail clearly; at
present little more than raw count data is the norm at many
beamlines - we might discuss together how to stage the jump to a 
comprehensive NeXus file.

Elena Pourmal would be happy to join us at the meeting.
I tentatively suggest that we offer her time at the
public presentation to present a summary of the present and
future state of HDF to the non-specialist audience.  Are
there any funds which might be available from the US to 
help her travel expenses?
