[NeXus-committee] ECM28 dates and CIF meeting, NIAC or Code Camp?

Dear all,

>From the replies to the poll so far http://doodle.com/rhezcqugkckgkysh there is strong interest in the CIF and NeXus get together meeting (proposed for the Thu 22nd August). There is less interest in attending the CIF symposium on Sun, 25th August. We would find someone to send to the invitation only CIF workshop, but as they would be discussing CBF internals and Herbert is invited anyway, we might not need to.

Other than that no one expressed an explicit interest to make travel to the UK worthwhile by having a code camp or NIAC meeting around the same time.

We'll leave the poll open for a bit, but by the looks I will get in touch with COMCIFS to work out the details of a meeting with NIAC representatives. There will be an informal NeXus meeting in a pub associated with that, but not a lot more. People can independently register for the symposium through the ECM28 website if they wish.

Dear all,

We are currently in the process of harmonising the relationship with CIF by making CBFlib NeXus aware.
There was was discussion about meeting with the CIF committee near the ECM 28 conference in Warwick.
If a number of people would travel to the UK anyway, there might be interest in holding a NeXus code camp or NIAC meeting.

So first the dates:

Brian McMahon (IUCr) suggested:
"The hope was that we could arrange a meeting with NIAC folk at some point within that window (or possibly on the preceding day, the 22nd, if that works better)."

So to judge the interest in the above and and potential additions I have created a Doodle poll.

Please indicate which of the above options you would like to attend.
For an additional NIAC meeting or Code Camp I have added the choices of having them:
 * before all these above
 * in parallel (In case there is little interest in the ECM meeting or the CIF workshop)
 * after

By that I have created a form that is almost to difficult to fill in for me myself. Please try your best, once we can limit the choices it gets easier, I promise.
