Subject: [NeXus-committee] Vote on NXpinhole and NXslit

Led by Eugen Wintersberger (DESY) the community has developed two base classes for common simple geometry components (slits and pinholes). The current definitions only foresee the general purpose class NXaperture which requires a nested NXgeometry. The full (short) proposal is available on the wiki: http://wiki.nexusformat.org/NXaperture_and_Slits It was felt by the technical subcommittee that we should vote on this now.

Please reply to this email stating support or rejection for NXslit and NXpinhole either by filling in the ballot below or using equivalent wording. Both public and private replies are counted (one vote per member only).
Deadline shall be Monday 19th May noon UK summer time (two weeks from now + grace period).

[ ] I support the proposed NXslit and NXpinhole base class definitions as documented on the above wiki page (version from 20140417-1008) <YES>
[ ] I reject the proposal in the current state <NO>
[ ] I abstain <ABSTAIN>

Reminder: Those eligible to vote will find their name on this page http://wiki.nexusformat.org/Membership_Dates under a heading with a date in the future.

Kind regards,

Tobias
NIAC Executive Secretary
