<p class="MsoNormal">We have a record number of members on the committee. Forgetting to invite the committee to the committee meeting may have been an isolated lapse. But the governance model that we are steering towards is that of an open source project, where
those that do the work get to decide. Obviously open source projects run that way for a reason. And those that put in a lot of work should be heard and thanked.

<p class="MsoNormal">So to make that clear: Thank you guys for all the work in the recent months and especially weeks!<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">But my point is: I have not seen an attempt to engage with the new members and involve them in the decision making. That would include setting the agenda. In fact Heike has opened a NIAC ticket, that received no perceivable attention. Instead
the agenda for the ‘final NIAC2020 session” discusses proposals prepared by one subset of people _<i>after</i>_ they have been put to a (named) vote.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">In NeXus history many decisions in the past have been non-controversial. But when rubberstamping by the committee is the only expected outcome, the facilities may not feel represented and their needs addressed by that governance model.
