[Nexus-developers] Version 2.1 anyone?

I was going to submit some specific technical problems with v3.0.0, which
seem to be reasonably minor, but since there are still some design
discussions going on, I thought I would raise the v2.1 canard again.
Can we just release v2.1 without XML, but with NXopenpath and the HDF5 bug
fixed? I would strongly recommend that we have a bug-free version of the
NeXus API available soon. Also, I am uncomfortable about not having a
reliable v2 of the library. Most software projects still make previous
versions available in case there are backward-compatibility issues, but we
don't have a working v2 at all. For a major release number, I think that's
a problem.
I know you must have discussed this at the end of NIAC, but the v3 time
frame is slipping. How easy is it to roll back the versions to pre-XML
v3.0.0?
Regards,
Ray
