Freddie,
The dmg and the install work, but the package fails on my 10.4 machine.
Did you compile for 10.3.9 and up?
I believe it is a matter of installing the cross development tools
when you install X-Code and including the following on your compile/
link lines:
-isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.3.9.sdk
/Library/Python/2.5/site-packages is not normally part of the python
path on 10.4.
I am curious how you built the package and how you built the dmg. I
have a dmg construction shell script, and started writing a package
building script yesterday but didn't finish. If you used the GUI you
may be interested in my scripts, which will allow you to put the dmg
construction in a make file. If you have already scripted it, please
put the scripts in the nexus tree.
In reading up on packages yesterday, one issue that concerned people
on the net was the permissions on the files. Apparently the
installer takes the permission and ownership of the files in the
distribution and uses those on install. Yours are installed as
pkienzle:staff, which I expect is because the default UID on a single
user machine is 501. I wrote a script to reset permissions to world
readable and change owner to root:admin or root:wheel depending.
