two issues here:
* adoption of contributed definitions by "aging"
* two classes are reaching their one year anniversary
I'm reviewing open TRAC tickets in the definitions repo again. There is
a ticket #109 regarding two class definitions in the "contributed"
directory describing structures used in Soleil's data files. This
ticket was started on 2010-03-17.
Thought we had some rules regarding the "aging" of a contributed
definition to either base or applications after a fixed period of time.
This allows for review by NIAC but also provides a path to proper
adoption. Can't find this in the manual. Isn't it in the wiki
somewhere? At the last NIAC, we told Steve Cottrell about this rule
when he was proposing a class that required more debate than we had
time. Basically, we told him to go ahead and set it up. After a
defined period of time (my memory says 1 year) without the NIAC
deciding, it would be adopted tacitly.
