[NeXus-tech] rotation increment and beam center in NeXus

Dear all,

I've enjoyed the spirited discussion this afternoon, but I'm a bit
frustrated that we couldn't come to an agreement. For us, it is less
critical what is agreed on than that we get an agreement rather quickly.
We have a big detector test coming up at SLS in two weeks. Next week, we
need to finalize the next version of the API and test it before letting it
loose.

What I would like to get by Tuesday is an agreement of how the rotation
range can be defined, if at all possible along the lines of Herberts
proposal (which is attached, with OMEGA substituted for 2THETA).

Could we get the following fields?

goniometer_omega
goniometer_omega_end
goniometer_omega_range
goniometer_omega_average_range

goniometer_phi
goniometer_phi_end
goniometer_phi_range
goniometer_phi_average_range

Also, is it possible to accept the unit pixels for beam_center_x and
beam_center_y, which would be in keeping with the CBF standard and people's
habits.

I'm out of the office tomorrow, but I'm happy to engage with you on this on
Friday and on Monday. But as I said, we really need a solution by Tuesday.

Thank you and all best.

Andreas
