Excuse a quibble: The GPL doesn't restrict commercial use as such; in
fact licences which do so mean it's not free software.  It prevents
(in this case) the library being used in non-free software, whether
for profit or not, e.g. no-cost binary-only distributions.

[The `free' refers to freedom, not cost.
