The Advanced Photon Source Engineering Support Division at Argonne
National Laboratory has an immediate opening for a software engineer in
its Scientific Software Section. The staff member will play a key role
in the specification, design, development, and maintenance of software
for scientific data analysis, modeling, and visualization and will
identify specific needs in the APS user community for scientific
software. Collaboration is expected with the domestic and foreign
scientific community to coordinate integration, development and
maintenance of software packages.
Ideal candidates will have the requisite levels of knowledge and skills
typically achieved with a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics, Materials
Science, Chemistry, or Biosciences plus six or more years experience
assisting users in an X-ray or neutron beam line environment, or the
equivalent.
