Dear Alistair Mills,

sorry that you have a problem; I tried the kit today and it worked for me.

 >make
 > make install

make install might require root privilege. If your HDF5-libraries are in
an unusual place you need
something like:

./configure --with-hdf5=path-to-hdf5-installation

For anything else I need more info:

- which version of linux are you using?
- where is HDF-5 etc installed?
- can you capture the output of configure and make into files and
forward them such that we
can figure out what is going on?

Best Regards,

            Mark Koennecke
