Ray,

Keeping it in PHP would be better, but you can call external programs if
need be. PHP has XML DOM parsing, so I should be able to replicate your
python code in PHP

The plan is to move from CVS/Bugzilla to Subversion/TRAC (which are both
on the same server). This was discussed recently on the nexus-developers
mailing list and I set up http://svn.nexusformat.org and
http://trac.nexusformat.org/ test sites. TRAC provides a bug tracking
system integrated with subversion and also a web based source browser.
I'll add this item to the NIAC agenda
