Hi everyone,
Thanks to the work of FAIRmat (and Lukas, in particular) we have the
ability in NeXus to embed persistent identifiers via the identifierNAME
field.
While this gives us a powerful tool, I think that it would make sense to
provide some guidance on how persistent identifiers should be included
within a NeXus file.
Such guidance would not try to be exhaustive or authoritative, but
provide practical information when someone wants to include specific
types of identifiers.
I've had a stab at putting together such a document. It's draft, in the
sense that all aspects of the document (even its existence) are up for
discussion. You can find the current version here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XZzyXKKJXYZ4qii5Uw6-ysajRzj0-Sv5B2gPMB2saTw
The link allows for people to add comments to the document. (Just let
me know if you'd like to work directly on the document.)
Feedback is appreciated: either as comments directly in the document or
by replying to this email.
Cheers,
Paul.
