This will be getting posted to the main nexus list too - it was posted to both but the nexus one didn't get delivered as Estella wasn't a list member at that point

Regards,

Freddie

Subject: [NeXus-committee] IUCr microsymposium on open data, standards, and repositories

Hi all,

We're excited to announce our IUCr microsymposium in sunny Calgary, Canada on August 14th, 2026.

MS-045: Open data, standards, and repositories for small- and wide-angle X-ray and neutron scattering data in the era of big data and AI

We're seeking talks on open data formats and accessibility, particularly in regards to small/wide-angle x-ray scattering and x-ray crystallography. We're also interested in discussions on reporting guidelines and standards, data formats and repositories, data storage, and metadata production.

We're looking for three speakers to round out our lineup, featuring talks by Jan Ilavsky, Andrew Jackson, and Greg Hura. Talks are 20 minutes total (~15 minutes plus a few minutes for Q&A). Submit your abstract by February 15 to be considered! (Any abstracts not selected for talks will still be considered for posters.)
