Thanks, Mark.  I look forward to trying them out.  I will post the revised
F90 version in the next day or so.  Since you've already added an
NXfcompress routine to NAPI.C, it will be trivial to do.

I encourage everyone to test these over the next week or so before we tag
and release this version as 1.3.0.
