flushing unlimited problems

   High,

   suitably relaxed I have now returned from my holidays to freezing 
   Switzerland. I now attacked the unlimited dimensions and NXflush
   issue. As usual it turned out that things are not that easy. First
   of all, HDF-4 does not support a proper flush. I contacted the HDF 
   people about this and I quote the reply (But please read on below):
