Carlos,

Thank you for the config.log file. The error message is:

./conftest: error while loading shared libraries: libhdf5.so.0: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory

Which means the test programs are not finding the hdf5 library on your
system. I've made a few changes to the configure script - can you please
try the latest 4.2 branch snapshot from

http://download.nexusformat.org/kits/snapshots.shtml

and me know if that works.
