 Confirmed problem to occur on my Mac with XCode installed.  The hyperref
 package is quite old.

 Here is the test to check for the version of hyperref

 {{{
 cd manual
 make clean
 make latex
 This will pause with a problem, type "q" to qontinue with no more
 qomplaints.

 cd build/latex
 edit the nexus.tex file and add this line near the top of the file (I put
 it on line 10):

 \listfiles

 pdflatex nexus  (in the latex subdir)
 (again it pauses with the problem, same way out: "q")

 grep hyperref nexus.log
 }}}
