BigHDF ?

	High,

        concerning the discussion about BigHDF:

        I have now a couple of hundred files in NeXus format already sitting
        here. However, this is not really bad as bad management has brought
        an accelerator shutdown from december to june 1998 upon us. So,
        this implies that SINQ won't produce more data for half a year.
        Consequently, my dead line for heavy changes to NeXus is spring
        1998 (I need to write code as well!). 

        Conversion would require that both BigHDF and OldHDf can be used 
        in one program. Can that be done?

        Given the investment in time on the NeXus tcl interface, the
        NXDICT interface and the fact that OpenGenie now does NeXus, I'am
        VERY reluctant to change the NeXus interface definition. However, a
        NeXus reimplementation based on BigHDF is not beyond possibilities
        if the group so wishes.

        I'am more concerned that the number of platforms supported is 
        insufficient and the question if BigHDF has enough features to
        implement NeXus.
