The NeXus technical committee is pleased to announce the official
release of version 4.1 of the NeXus API. The NeXus API provides a
unified interface for writing hierarchical data files in HDF4, HDF5,
and XML formats. Version 4.1 resolves a number of bugs reported in
the 4.0 release including issues with python bindings, text strings
in the XML library, and problems encountered with using the Absoft
FORTRAN90 compiler.
The 4.1 release includes new support for 64 bit integers.
Source code, binary packages, and example code can be downloaded from
http://www.nexusformat.org/Download/ or
http://download.nexusformat.org/kits/.
Bug reports and feature requests should be directed to the NeXus Trac
server at http://trac.nexusformat.org/code/.
We also welcome Mark Koennecke as the new chair of the technical committee.
Mark has served as a technical lead from the very early days of the NeXus
project and has contributed substantially to the evolution of both the API
and to the data format that it writes and reads. Mark's home institution
(PSI) is home to perhaps the largest collection of NeXus raw data files
to date. Good luck Mark!
Thanks for your attention,
Nick Maliszewskyj
